Filing Lawsuits After Death Resulting From Personal Injury
If someone who suffers from a personal injury dies, their heirs may recover damages through a lawsuit. Much depends upon whether a person dies as a result of the injuries or dies from unrelated causes. If a person injured in an accident subsequently dies because of those injuries, that person’s heirs may recover money through the courts via a lawsuit. Each state has laws permitting an action when one party causes the wrongful death of another.
